Upcoming 4G Cell Networks In Future
When talking about cell networks and cell phones, almost whole of the world have been using them in mass quantity and from quite sometime now, except US. For example, it has been 6 or 12 months since Japan’s 3G networks has started providing the video streaming services to their residents. However, the US is still using the same old 2.5G or rarely sometimes 3G.
With 4G in future, the bandwidth will be bigger and speed will be faster with maximum speed of 1Gbps. With this much speed it will be quicker to stream video even in HD format. Streaming will be provided by stations at available bandwidth for maximizing the network space, it will be much like watching a TV. Thin phones with single antenna will easily catch the local news with any local networks servers.
Therefore, with the upcoming 4G networks, not only you can watch whole TV in your cell phone, but also you can use an internet connection of 1GB whenever you want. This 4G network will be around 800 times quicker than your usual broadband internet. With 4G you can use internet, watch TV any where you want and also you can access internet with your wireless devices like laptop or any other.
T-Mobile 4G Cell
Like AT&T, T-Mobile is also busy in upgrading their networks to HSPA+ technology. Lately, only cities like NYC, DC and Philadelphia have received the service of HSPA+ and soon it will be available in LA too. Recently, T-Mobile announced that they will be providing HSPA+ service to over 100 cities of US, by the fall of 2010. They even said that their HSPA+ will be more capable than Sprints upcoming 4G WiMAX network. But for now, it has only surpassed the current 3G networks.
All US wireless carriers are now considering enhancing their networks and becoming the fastest service provider in US. However, right now, not many carriers have gone too far in this matter. All of them are spending lot of money and efforts to upgrade their networks more quickly. Many people are saying that 4G will be out in 2010 or 2011. However, the exact or guaranteed date has not been announced yet. All of US people are eagerly waiting for the 4G technology and I think they will soon get this technology everywhere.
AT&T 4G
Unlike Sprint and Verizon, AT&T is not in any hurry to release their own 4G networks. For now, they are busy in enhancing their current 3G networks to support quicker HSPA 7.2 technology and AT&T has tested this in many cities till now. The new HSPA 7.2 technology is capable of providing maximum transfer speed of 7.2 Mbps and in future, they might upgrade to even HSPA+ technology, which is capable of providing up to 10Mbps of download speed, equal to the speed of Verizon upcoming 4G LTE networks. Also, upgrading to HSPA+ only needs software; there is no need to upgrade whole networks and infrastructures. But to use HSPA+ service in cell phones, it will need a HSPA+ supported cell phones. AT&T has stated that they already have sufficient wireless spectrum for upgrading to 4G service, anytime they want. Some times ago, AT&T also stated that they were testing 4G service in small scale.
4G Cell – Verizon
Verizon has started moving in this matter. Verizon is also trying to quickly start their 4G networks but unlike Sprint, they will be using LTE technology instead of WiMAX. At present, Verizon is busy in testing the 4G networks in some cities like Seattle and Boston and they are planning to provide their 4G service to more and more cities in this year. As of now, we don’t know the name of those cities. However, Verizon stated that by 2010, they will twice their speed of development and by 2013; their networks of 4G LTE will not be different from its current 3G networks in size.
Verizon has also stated some information regarding their current testing. They stated that while testing the networks, they recorded the maximum transfer speed of 50 Mbps which is more and better than the 3G service.
Lets See What Sprint Have for 4G Cell
Sprint is enhancing its networks in a very fast pace. They have been very eager in acquiring 4G cellular technology first and they are indeed very advanced than others right now. This maybe because, they have already adopted WiMAX and have acquired many wireless spectrum which will be used for their networks. Recently, Sprint has announce they will soon start their 4G service in many cities of US like LA, Miami, NY, DC and many others. However, no one knows about the exact date of this event and soon doesn’t necessarily mean that it will start this year. Even the HTC EVO 4G phone from Sprint is not certain to be launched in this coming month. Therefore, no one can say for sure that 4G service will be started in this summer or winter.
4G Cell Networks- Present State
Whenever we see cell phone we are reminded of upcoming 4G wireless technology. This technology is really a hot topic among many cell phone and internet industries. However, we are still not sure about its launch date; we don’t even know that how much it has been developed yet. Most mobile carriers in US are considering releasing information about availability and schedules of their plans about 4G.
Today most of us are aware about the 3G wireless cellular service, which is a currently the best high-speed data technology, being used by all carriers in US. One of the most important and notable fact about 3G was its capabilities of voice chatting and the ability of concurrent receiving and sending of data, which were very unique thing at that time. That’s why this can be done from the 3G phones of T-Mobile and AT&T, while some other carriers are unable to do this, like the Sprint and Verizon. This is because of only difference that AT&T and T-Mobile are using GSM cellular technology, whereas Sprint and Verizon are using CDMA. The GSM of 3G is capable of doing concurrent data transfer and voice transfer, whereas the CDMA of 3G is not capable of doing those things.
However, the 4G is capable of doing more than 3G. It will offer everyone very high-speed of data transfer rate and also it will support all the voice exchange and concurrent data between all carriers. Like in 3G, 4G also includes two major technology which are LTE (Long-Term Evolution) and WiMAX. These technologies are very similar except that their frequency requirements for transmitting signals are different.
However, there are no 4G compatible cell phones available yet, but there are rumors that few cell phone producers are already in a process of developing 4G compatible devices and phones and if it is true then these devices will be in our hand in few years. The release of 4G will result in some difficulties with cell phone carriers. Those carriers who want to implement 4G will need to enhance their network infrastructure and network of towers so they can provide the 4G service and the problem is not only they are costly but it will took some time to complete these enhancements. There are some carriers that already have started developments in these enhancements so they can finish quicker than others. Each carrier has their own way of thinking and so they are planning this matter in their own way.
